Oxygen - Deadly Power
OXYGEN
DEADLY POWER
Context
Oxygen is a television network under the umbrella of NBCUniversal. The channel primarily airs true crime programming targeted towards women.
Requirements
Develop both a show promo as well as the show’s opener in conjunction with both Oxygen’s marketing division and it’s content division.
Solution
Good Brother rented out Industria, a multi-stage studio in Williamsburg. In order to wring as much content as we could out of our limited timeline, we utilized the several stages in the studio, and we used the day before shooting to build and light both of our sets, including key art for the show opener and a custom “photographic dark room.”

Dark Room
Oxygen primarily creates true crime programming; what could be more symbolic of true crime that photography and the creepy drama-filled visuals of a dark room?
“We had three different teams capturing content from three different sets for everything from key-art to promos to show package elements and Good Brother helped make sure we got what we needed.”
— Franklin Zitter - Project Manager, Oxygen Network
Timeline
The turnaround on this project was quick; it took less than two weeks from when we brought in our freelancer production team to the final wrap. Not having to oversee post-production helped.
Live Action Shoot
The shoot itself took place in 1 day, and both pieces of content were shot concurrently in the same studio. Using the day before the shoot to build and light helped us be as efficient as possible with both resources and time. We used a fisher dolly as well as a really cool technocrane with a 360° head to work movement into the shoot.
